anointing the sick & the mercy of god
Jesus came in order to show God's love. God wants us to be well in body and soul and to acknowledge the coming of God's kingdom. We are taught that when priests are ordained they become representatives of Christ. By calling on God and asking for his help in our times of need, we are acknowledging his mercy. Through God's mercy and the strength of prayer, the person is forgiven of their sins and may be filled with the grace to face judgment or the physical well-being to recover.
